A well-established global manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Analyst/Buyer to join its North American materials team in Golden Valley. This is an excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional who enjoys taking ownership, building supplier relationships, and solving supply challenges that keep manufacturing operations running smoothly.

About the Role

You will manage an assigned portfolio of suppliers and oversee the full purchasing cycle, including placing and confirming purchase orders, monitoring material availability, expediting critical components, resolving discrepancies, and partnering with vendors and internal planning teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of approximately 20–50 suppliers
  • Create, place, and confirm purchase orders
  • Monitor inventory levels and material requirements
  • Identify potential shortages and expedite critical materials
  • Communicate directly with suppliers regarding delivery and performance issues
  • Resolve invoice and purchase-order discrepancies
  • Coordinate returns and RMAs with vendors
  • Partner with planners to understand production schedules and build requirements
  • Escalate supplier constraints and develop solutions that protect production
  • Support material availability across multiple North American locations
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within the company’s ERP system

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply-chain analysis, or a buyer role
  • Experience managing purchase orders and working directly with suppliers
  • Strong follow-through and a sense of urgency
  • Confidence handling difficult conversations and escalating vendor issues
  • Ability to independently manage multiple suppliers and priorities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work onsite in Golden Valley Tuesday through Thursday
  • Availability to begin the workday by 7:30 a.m.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting a manufacturing environment
  • SAP or comparable ERP-system experience
  • Experience resolving invoice discrepancies and processing vendor returns
  • Familiarity with Power BI
  • Experience working with constrained, high-risk, or underperforming suppliers
  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing or distribution locations
  • Manufacturing experience, SAP, advanced Excel, and Power BI are helpful but not required. The company is most interested in candidates who understand the fundamentals of purchasing and can independently manage supplier relationships.

Pay range and compensation package

Compensation: $80,000–$85,000+, depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits
