As the organization continues to scale its technology platform, we're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build the core backend services and APIs powering its next generation of financial products.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced backend engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs.

You'll help build and optimize scalable backend services, influence architecture and engineering standards, and collaborate closely with Product and other cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, customer-facing financial technology.

What You'll Be Doing

Backend Engineering & Platform Development

  • Design, build, and optimize scalable backend services and distributed systems
  • Develop clean, cohesive RESTful APIs and domain-driven microservices
  • Measure and improve the performance, scalability, reliability, and uptime of critical backend services
  • Design and implement relational database schemas supporting high-scale applications

Architecture & Engineering Excellence

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and scalable service design
  • Conduct design and code reviews while helping raise engineering standards across the organization
  • Champion clean, maintainable, well-tested software and strong engineering practices
  • Balance rapid product development with long-term platform scalability and technical sustainability

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Management and other customer-facing teams to deliver exceptional user experiences
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers to solve complex technical challenges and continuously improve platform capabilities
  • Contribute ideas that directly influence products, engineering practices, and company direction

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building scalable, distributed software systems
  • Strong command of Java and Java-based microservices using Spring Boot
  • Experience designing and supporting customer-facing RESTful APIs
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design
  • Experience designing and implementing relational database schemas using PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar technologies
  • Strong understanding of unit and integration testing concepts and tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical education and experience
