Principal Electrical Engineer
Position Description:
The Principal Electrical Engineer will provide leadership and direction for the electrical design and development of new medical devices, including capital equipment, disposables and accessories. This position will collaborate as part of a cross-functional development team, guiding the product lifecycle from concept through to production, while interfacing with customers, vendors, and internal departments to meet product specifications. A key goal is to develop high-quality products that meet end-users' expectations, with a strong focus on timely delivery, accountability, and technical excellence in design and development.
Principal Responsibilities:
The Principal Electrical Engineer is a critical role within the R&D organization, responsible for:
• Leading electrical design projects, including PCB design, layout, and procurement processes.
• Providing technical expertise in PCB design, utilizing tools such as Altium Designer.
• Developing, reviewing, updating, modifying, and approving electrical design plans and work schedules.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet technical and regulatory specifications.
• Establishing relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, other professionals, and expanding networks.
• Selecting advanced techniques to solve complex problems and making sound design recommendations.
• Analyzing complex test results and drawing conclusions to improve designs and processes.
• Preparing detailed technical reports to communicate results to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Designing, coordinating, and performing rigorous engineering tests and experiments.
• Translating customer needs into detailed product requirements and design specifications.
• Working closely with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Product development experience in medical device industry
• 10+ years of progressively responsible system-level medical device design, development, and validation experience throughout the entire product development cycle
• Demonstrated experience in leading the design and development of embedded platform architecture for combination electro-mechanical systems.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with PCB design and layout using Altium Designer, including procurement and collaboration with PCB manufacturers.
• Deep understanding of circuit design and analysis, with proven skills in analog and digital system design.

• Proficiency in high-level software languages for embedded systems development.
Working Conditions:
• Light physical effort, typically exerting up to 20 lbs. of force or less.
• Fast-paced work environment with moderate to high deadline pressure.
• Stand or sit for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day.
