Information & Business Systems Manager
Overview
A growing, people-first manufacturing organization is seeking an Information & Business Systems Manager to lead and evolve its IT and enterprise systems strategy. This is a high-impact role responsible for aligning technology with business objectives, improving operational efficiency, and driving system optimization across the organization.
This individual will serve as both a strategic leader and hands-on problem solver—owning ERP systems, leading cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring technology is a true competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute IT strategy aligned with business goals and operational needs
- Serve as the primary leader for enterprise systems, ensuring scalability and long-term performance
- Partner with executive leadership to prioritize technology initiatives and investments
- Manage IT budgets, forecasting, and vendor relationships with a strong ROI focus
ERP & Business Systems Ownership
- Own and optimize the company’s ERP system, including configuration, upgrades, integrations, and reporting
- Lead ERP roadmap planning, including potential cloud migration initiatives
- Champion system adoption and continuous improvement across departments
- Facilitate internal user groups and training to enhance system utilization
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Sales to drive process improvements
- Identify and implement tools that enhance data visibility, reporting, and user experience
- Translate business challenges into scalable technology solutions
Infrastructure, Security & Support
- Ensure IT systems are secure, reliable, and optimized for performance
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives and proactively manage risk
- Oversee IT vendors and internal resources to maintain system uptime and support
- Provide hands-on support for complex technical issues when needed
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay current on emerging technologies and bring forward innovative, practical solutions
- Drive initiatives that improve efficiency, collaboration, and scalability
- Contribute to long-term digital transformation efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive IT experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with ERP systems (Epicor/Kinetic highly preferred)
- Background in enterprise systems, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity
- Experience managing vendors, budgets, and cross-functional technology projects
- Proven ability to align technology solutions with business needs
