Business Development Manager (West Region)
Overview
A growing, innovation-driven manufacturing organization is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead sales and market expansion efforts across the Western United States.
This role blends hands-on sales execution with strategic business development, focused on identifying new opportunities, expanding market share, and strengthening partnerships across industrial and commercial markets. The ideal candidate brings a strong hunter mentality, technical curiosity, and the ability to navigate complex, solution-based sales cycles.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Execution
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within targeted industrial markets
- Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives
- Manage pipeline activity, forecasting, and overall territory performance
- Drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and market penetration
Customer & Partner Engagement
- Build and expand relationships with OEMs, distributors, and channel partners
- Present customized solutions by collaborating with engineering and product teams
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, aligning solutions with their operational needs
- Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
Strategic Growth & Market Intelligence
- Expand brand presence and competitive positioning across the region
- Gather and analyze market intelligence, including customer needs and competitor activity
- Act as the voice of the customer, providing insights to internal stakeholders
- Identify new applications, verticals, and growth opportunities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, operations, supply chain, and marketing to deliver solutions
- Support product development and go-to-market initiatives
- Ensure alignment between sales activity and organizational capabilities
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline visibility, and reporting
- Participate in training, internal meetings, and strategic planning sessions
- Consistently meet or exceed individual and company sales targets
Qualifications
- 3+ years of sales or business development experience within industrial manufacturing
- Proven ability to generate new business and manage a sales territory
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience with CRM systems and pipeline management
- Highly motivated, competitive, and results-driven mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
- Experience selling into industrial applications, fluid power, or off-highway equipment markets
- Track record of success in complex, solution-based or technical sales cycles
- Experience working with distributors, OEMs, or manufacturer rep networks

- Remote role covering the Western U.S.
- Travel up to ~25%
