Overview

We are partnering with a growing energy infrastructure company seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the execution of large-scale renewable energy construction projects.

This is a hands-on, field-based opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in project management while working directly alongside experienced construction leadership on complex energy infrastructure projects. You'll be involved in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, documentation, field coordination, and construction execution from the jobsite.

The selected candidate will initially join a project in Texas before transitioning to a project in Ohio after 2-3 months. This is an onsite position designed for someone who is comfortable traveling from project to project and wants exposure to the full lifecycle of major construction initiatives.

The Opportunity

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll work closely with the Project Manager and field leadership to help keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

What You'll Be Doing

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination throughout all phases of construction
  • Support daily communication between internal teams, contractors, engineers, vendors, and external partners
  • Help coordinate field activities and ensure project priorities remain aligned across stakeholders
  • Assist in identifying and resolving issues that could impact schedule, budget, quality, or project execution

Field Construction Support

  • Support onsite construction and installation activities
  • Help ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality expectations, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quality inspections, risk assessments, and field problem-solving efforts
  • Work directly with project and field leadership in outdoor and remote construction environments

Project Controls & Documentation

  • Track project progress and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Prepare reports, logs, drawings, status updates, and other project deliverables
  • Assist with procurement, materials tracking, and contract administration
  • Support preparation of presentations and project updates for customers and senior leadership

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, schedules, and technical specifications
  • Understanding of construction workflows and project management fundamentals
  • Ability to work onsite in outdoor and physically demanding environments
  • Willingness to travel and relocate between project sites
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Preferred

  • Previous experience in construction, renewable energy, engineering, or project coordination
  • Experience supporting construction projects in a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Project Coordinator, or Assistant Project Manager capacity
  • Familiarity with project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, or materials management
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

Additional Information

  • Initial project assignment in Texas
