JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Hardware Team Manager is responsible for the coaching of Automation Project Engineers and Automation Engineers in Hardware Planning in all elements and aspects of hardware engineering, and actively supports the team to deliver projects on agreed times with high quality as well as in line with the standard Automation guidelines.

The Hardware Team Leader is expected to perform up to 20% of Admin tasks and 80% of technical work.

Tasks

  • Taking on customer orders for Systems Automation projects
  • Coordinating and planning the allocation of jobs and capacity utilization of staff members
  • Acting as contact person for hardware engineering and installation planning
  • Training new employees in the application of standards, methods, and tools
  • Controlling the workload of the team
  • Ensuring that monthly project reviews are carried out
  • Monitoring compliance with Quality Assurance guidelines
  • Monitoring the quality and efficiency of current orders and introducing necessary measures in case of deviations
  • Ensure on-time, on-budget and complete delivery of the engineering packages as allocated, following the project contract and master schedule for all projects within the department
  • Drive objectives for each project, identify and assign resources to support projects in execution
  • Establish and enforce proper project management processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate forecasting and identify risks and opportunities;
  • Lead and motivate the team by establishing open communication of the principles, objectives and processes for project execution;
  • Conduct employee reviews for the team members and provide regular feedback;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, partners and primary subcontractors
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related field), 3+ years of proven leadership experience, PLC, and HMI software experience
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work and lead international engineering teams

  • Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interface effectively with people inside and outside of the company
